The Birth of an Idea
Based in Tampa, in the middle of the Sunshine State, Indigo Bee was started in late 2006 by Trista Page, a mom of three little girls. While in college (go USF BULLS!), she developed a business plan in a required course for her Finance degree. The business plan was developed for a natural skin care and makeup line. Being young and inexprienced, the plan was a super idea, but the fictitious company was bankrupt by year five. She still received a "B" in the class due to the extensive research and her creative packaging and marketing ideas. Fast forward to 2006
Fed up with the quality of soaps and skin care products sold in the mass marketplace that are filled with preservatives and chemicals, she decided to dust off the business plan and start anew. Plus, having a daughter with a life-threatening allergy to all nut products and terrible excema, she couldn't find any bath products that didn't make her daughter's condition worse. Perfect conditions for an entrepreneur! The result was Indigo Bee and the first product was natural 100% vegetable oil soap. The soap was made in her kitchen at home while her baby girls were asleep, hence the "Crazy Soap Lady" moniker her husband bestowed upon her at 11pm one night in the middle of a batch of Rosemary Peppermint soap. The name stuck and is still present in everyday business.
After the birth of her third baby girl in the summer of 2008, she decided to revisit the ever-changing business plan and take Indigo Bee into a different direction. Indigo Bee was reborn as a design-your-own luxury bath bar and now occupies retail space in South Tampa.

Our goal is to provide our clients with the highest quality premium bath and body products with the customization they require. The ability to chose a scent and color sets us apart from your average big box bath & body store. We offer a boutique where the customer can relax and spend some time and feel pampered by the personal touch of our staff. This person to person interaction is a key component of our initial business model and that idea continues today.
We also belive in "going green". Many of our products contain organic, vegan ingredients. Our containers, shopping bags and tissue paper are recyclable and/or made with recycled products. We have many products that are SLS and paraben-free. We try to utilize local sources for our raw materials and order in bulk, cutting down on shipping across the country.
The bottom line - we love what we do and we hope that others will grow to love us as well!
As our original tag line says........SOAP IT UP!
